WASHINGTON, D.C., July 24, 2007
Today, Mark W. Everson, President and CEO of the American Red Cross, presented three-time Grammy-nominee, Pat Green, with a special Crystal Cross award for his service to the organization. The award presentation was immediately followed by a special performance by Pat and his band for the volunteers, employees and supporters of the Red Cross.
Pat, who is presently performing in Kenny Chesney’s 2007 “Flip Flop Summer Tour,” is a member of the Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, and has worked tirelessly over the last several years to promote the importance of blood donations at his various concert stops across the country. Pat often encourages his fans to gift the gift of life by donating blood to the Red Cross.
“Pat has contributed greatly by spreading the message to country music fans everywhere that Americans should roll up their sleeves and donate blood,” said Mark W. Everson, President and CEO of the Red Cross. “This is especially important during the summertime months, when travel plans make it more difficult for people to donate regularly.”
In addition to being a blood donor himself, Pat has recorded Red Cross radio public service announcements to promote the importance of blood donation, which can be downloaded here:
http://www.redcross.org/press/psa/psaRadio.html#biomedical. He also features the Red Cross on his website, www.patgreen.com, and on his MySpace page, www.myspace.com/patgreen.
“It meant a lot to get this award from the Red Cross,” said Pat, who started giving blood when he was in college. “Anything I can do to help the Red Cross promote blood donations—especially during the summer—is on the top of my ‘to do’ list. Giving blood is giving the gift of life.”
The Dancehall, Pat Green’s devoted fan club, votes him to victory on About.com
Nashville, TN – July 24, 2007 – Once again, Pat Green’s fans prove they are the most loyal fans in country music. The Dancehall recently had a hand in helping Pat Green win the award for “Best Male Artist” on About.com. The 5th annual contest began a few weeks ago and included finalists such as Brad Paisley, Joe Nichols and Trace Adkins. Green ended up with an impressive 45% of the total votes. His 36,970 votes easily topped Blake Shelton who came in 2nd when the winners were announced last night.
Before Kenny Chesney began his concert, the power chord strains of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” thrummed from the speakers and caused a sizable portion of the audience to join along in paeans of joy.
Then there was a snippet of Ram Jam’s 1980s hit cover of Leadbelly’s old blues tune “Black Betty” emanating from the massive speakers, raising the level of excitement even more.
Then — WHAM! The opening drapery with Chesney’s tour logo and sponsorship prominently displayed, dropped from the rafters, unveiling a band rocking out to the max. Lights flashed, guitars were screaming, and a huge video screen at the back of the set quick cut between single, double, triple and even quadruple visions of what Chesney and the musicians were doing onstage.
There were even little video vignettes taken in various tropical locations with Kenny, the band and various friends [including a momentary glimpse of Sammy Hagar and Chesney bending elbows] having fun and cracking up.
Songs like “Summertime” [not the Gershwin chestnut], “Beer and Mexico” and the Allman Brothers’ “Midnight Rider” were well received, but, truth to tell, it didn’t seem as though there wasn’t anything that Chesney could do that wouldn’t generate some heat with his fans. There were certainly a lot of them in the venue as evidenced by the fact that it was awfully hard to see a speck of green among the folks seated up on the lawn.
The crowd was going nuts, standing up for every tune, singing along to the lyrics and taking pictures with cell phones to help preserve the memory of the time they saw one of their favorite stars. Who could blame them? The whole show was done so well and so beguilingly, with so much good-natured energy and verve, that the experience was unnervingly enjoyable.
Opening performers, Sugarland and Pat Green, were perfect foils for the Chesney experience. Both acts came onto the stage to considerable applause and left to even bigger applause.
Sugarland features the incredible vocals of Jennifer Nettles, whose energy and charisma were almost forces of nature. They ran through a litany of their hits, including “Baby Girl,” which generated a sing-along moment with the audience, and a rocking “Down in Mississippi.”
The real surprise, however, was a cover of Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable,” which Nettles introduced by noting that “any good song can be made country.”
Pat Green was an amazing performer and almost worth the ticket price alone. While he has had a decent career as an independent performer with impressive Texas credentials, Green took nothing for granted, attacking the stage with the power and speed of a middle linebacker looking to create havoc in somebody’s backfield. He worked the crowd hard, really hard.
At one point he jumped off the stage — revealing the fact that he had been performing barefoot — and strode into the crowd, exchanging high-fives and hand shakes while singing at top volume.

Country artist, Pat Green, recently visited St. Jude. The children of St. Jude seem to have left a very special mark in Pat’s heart. Their will and determination are like no other. Read below as Pat describes his St. Jude experience.
The night before I went on my tour of St. Jude Children's Hospital I was on the phone with my wife. I remember she said to me "Ya know, tomorrow is going to be a hard day for you. I bet it hits you square in the chest."
The people that worked for both the hospital and the fundraising side of St. Jude met us with a smile and were very knowledgeable about all aspects of the operation. I was very impressed by the people and the almost palpable feeling of hope that permeated the entire building. We learned a great deal about what was going on there in a very short time. Once again I was impressed by all the ground-breaking work that was happening on a daily basis there.
The pulse of the hospital however, was not in the impressive structure, or the most excellent staff, and I think I can honestly say not even the good doctors of St. Jude. The soul of that magical place lived in the children and families who were seeking help there. Some of the children I met were too young to grasp how sick they were....I wasn't sure if that was a blessing or not. The children who were old enough to understand seemed to have more faith and hope inside themselves than in any other humans I have ever come in contact with. I wonder if God gives them that kind of hope so to counter what faith and hope might have been lost by the families and loved ones who were there every day....wondering....how long? Will our child live through this? Will the medical powers that be catch up with our child?
I know they felt that way because in the chapel in a book on the alter were written the many prayers of those beautiful people. For a moment I had a glimpse into their world. I was completely overcome, however, I could never feel the way they felt. I'm not sure if I would be able to accept it. All I know for sure is that I would like to go back there when there are no cameras or press just to be there in whatever capacity I can be useful. Godspeed to everyone who has ever seen, or will see in the future, what I saw that day.
My wife was right by the way..... and I'll bet that anyone with a half a heart would feel the same.

Pat Green poses with two Wichita area patients at a benefit concert sponsored by Country Cares partner, KFDI, in Wichita, KS. The show acted as a side event for their radiothon and raised $3,440!

BMI songwriters and artists hopped a few islands and sang more than a few songs Jan. 13 and 14 during the 3rd Annual Country in the Caribbean.
Anguilla hosted two nights of intimate acoustic shows attended by native islanders and tourists alike, featuring sets by Grammy Award winner and 2006 BMI Country Songwriter of the Year Vicky McGehee ("All Jacked Up"), along with Wendell Mobley (“Fast Cars and Freedom”), Chuck Jones ("Cadillac Ranch"), James Slater ("In My Daughter’s Eyes"), Chuck Cannon ("How Do You Like Me Now") and Rivers Rutherford (“When I Get Where I’m Going”), along with three-time Grammy nominee Pat Green (“Wave on Wave”), for.
All proceeds from the event help local children in Anguilla head to college in the United States. So far, four students have paid their tuition with funds generated by the Festival, and the success of this year’s run promises more dollars for the education of Anguilla’s youth.

Anywhere & Everywhere Having just announced six stadium shows -- in Seattle, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Cleveland and Detroit -- it figures Kenny Chesney's just getting warmed up to bring the summer alive. And to that end, he's bringing some really good friends out on the road to help him make his 2007 Flip-Flop Summer Tour -- brought to you by Cruzan Rum -- the biggest yet!
And the reigning and back-to-back Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year didn't just enlist hot artists, he picked two acts that he's already road-tested. In addition to triple Grammy nominee and Texas icon Pat Green, Chesney brings triple-platinum country upstarts Sugarland out for an encore run.
“My fans come to have a good time -- and they like it when you get in there and have fun with'em,” Chesney says of the over 6 million people who've come out to see him over the past 5 years. “And one thing I can say these two acts have in common not just their willingness to have fun with the fans, but the fact that like me and my guys, they really seem to thrive that connection.
“When Sugarland is up there, they really dig playing together; they're a band in the truest sense of the word - and they feed on the crowd feeding on them. Jennifer and Kristian run all over that stage, and just come to life… it's exciting to watch.
Having the single most attended tour in all of North America last year with his The Road & The Radio Tour 2006 -- playing to more people than even the Dave Matthews Band and the Rolling Stones -- Chesney is all about the fans. Bringing them not just the biggest, but the best possible show is the key… and working from the model of his stadium line-up, which also includes 3-time Entertainers of the Year Brooks & Dunn and ACM Top Female Vocalist Sara Evans, the man who just finished producing Willie Nelson's next album is looking forward to getting into his flip-flops and hitting the road.
“It's getting to be that time of year where we're all starting to itch,” Chesney admits with a laugh. “And with a line-up like this, how can you blame us? This is the kinda show where me and the guys'll be sneaking into the wings to watch -- just like the fans. So, all we gotta do is finish up the stage, get the set list sorted out and start rehearsing.”
It's a safe bet “Beer In Mexico,” slamming up the country radio charts, is going to be on the short list of must-do songs. Like the multiple week #1s “Summertime” and “Living In Fast Forward,” from Chesney's triple platinum The Road & The Radio, it sets a blazing pace for a too live summer on the road.
MARKS 7TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK AT #1
NASHVILLE, TN – It’s about the fans. They buy the records, the concert tickets and invite you to be part of their lives. For Pat Green, that relationship with his fans has landed him and his latest video, “Dixie Lullaby,” atop CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown, a fan voted show on CMT’s all-video channel, CMT Pure Country.
This marks the seventh consecutive week that “Dixie Lullaby” has locked up the top spot and follows an amazing 12-week-run for his last video, “Feels Just Like It Should.” Evan Kroft, CMT’s Director of Music Programming & Talent Relations said, "Pat’s fans have been there since the launch of CMT Pure Country, and continue to make him the most voted for artist on the 12 Pack Countdown."
On the success of the video Pat said, “This was a really heartfelt song for me, and Trey Fanjoy did a fantastic job of capturing that emotion in this video.”
In other Pat Green news, while his native state of Texas and fellow residents of Dallas shiver and shovel their way through a cold January, Pat’s busy pulling out the summer wear for six stadium engagement with Kenny Chesney’s Flip Flop Summer Tour. Seattle kicks-off the stadium dates on June 9 and they wrap in Detroit on August 18.
CHESNEY TO PLAY QWEST FIELD ON SATURDAY, JULY 7
TICKETS ON SALE SATURDAY, MARCH 10 AT 10:00AM
14 SOUND TRUSSES ADDED AND 500 SPEAKERS TO ASSURE A DAY OF GREAT MUSIC
Nashvlle: He had the most attended North American Tour last year, and now Kenny Chesney gets ready to kick-off his Flip Flop Summer 2007 Tour by announcing six stadium shows across the country. With an all-star line-up that includes 3-time Entertainers of the Year hailed as “the Rolling Stones of Country” Brooks & Dunn, triple platinum new country sensation Sugarland, current Academy of Country Music Top Female Vocalist Sara Evans and triple Grammy-nominee Pat Green, Chesney will play his first stadium show June 9 at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, home of the Steelers.
“There is a whole other kind of energy, other kind of dynamic. We’re talking the firepower of one of country music’s most hardcore, hard-rocking duos,” the reining Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year says of his stadium shows. “All the acts really… it’s a pretty intense line-up, in what we’ve found to be a very exciting place to do concerts!”
In addition to Pittsburgh, Chesney will bring the same line-up to Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, home to the Eagles on June 23; Seattle’s Qwest Field, home of the Seahawks on July 7; Cleveland, Ohio’s Browns Stadium on July 14; Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium, home to the Patriots – where he sold out last year’s play in less than a week – on July 28; and Detroit’s Ford Field. Home of the Lions on August 18.
The onsale date is set for Feb. 10 – with the exception of Philadelphia (March 3) and Seattle hitting one month later on March 10. Fans can buy their tickets through the normal channels to the Flip Flop Summer Tour, brought to you by Cruzan Rum. Given the response to Chesney’s previous stadium plays, each with the stage customized to the field, the all-day shows are a once-in-a-summer experience.
“There’s nothing like it,” Chesney allows. “You know, getting all those people together for a little party… they start tail-gating, cooking out early, and then we rock straight through the night. Anyone who’s ever been knows it’s a helluva good time.”
Having sold out Boston well in advance the past two years, Seattle and Detroit last year and Pittsburgh the year before, sales are anticipated to be so brisk, some of the markets are putting on extra operators to handle demand. This year’s new stadium markets are Cleveland and Philadelphia, traditionally strong markets for the man who spent 6 weeks at #1 last year with “Summertime” from his well-past triple platinum The Road & The Radio when it comes to bringing the summer alive.
Nashville’s award winning songwriters, Vicky McGee, Rivers Rutherford, Wendell Mobley, Chuck Jones, James Slater and Chuck Cannon will join Texas favorite and three-time Grammy nominee Pat Green for the 3rd annual Country in the Caribbean, January 13-14, 2007.These one of a kind fundraising performances are held on the beautiful island of Anguilla, just 7 miles off the coast of St. Maarten, in the British West Indies.
On Saturday January 13th, performances will take place at the private island of Scilly Cay just 150 yards off of Anguilla’s, Island Harbour. In this relaxed setting locals and tourists will be entertained by the current BMI and ASCAP Songwriters of the Year, local Anguillan artists, plus a few more surprises.
Then on Sunday January 14th, Country superstar Pat Green will join the Country in The Caribbean lineup at the island’s legendary Dune Preserve for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
Thanks to American Airlines, BMI, and the Government of Anguilla, GAC’s Country Music Across America and syndicated radio’s Country Hitmakers will be covering the weekend’s festivities for broadcast in the US. Country Music Across America Executive Producer Greg Travis says, “Anguilla is a magical island with wonderful people and they have welcomed the Nashville music community with open arms. It is a great getaway for the artists and songwriters to create and relax, as well as for fans to see intimate performances on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.”
All proceeds benefit local island children’s charities. In fact, funds and awareness raised by past shows have contributed to four of Anguilla’s youth receiving full scholarships to attend college in the US in the past year.
Tickets are still available to see Pat Green and Nashville’s award winning songwriters jam in this unique & intimate paradise setting.

Jeff Foxworthy is back in his new CMT sketch comedy series, FOXWORTHY'S BIG NIGHT OUT, and he has a new set of friends and a different musical guest each week. In the fourth episode, Pat Green returns home for a very special family reunion-where some of his super-redneck cousins (Jeff Foxworthy, Brooke Dillman, Peter Oldring, Sara Erickson and Shane Caldwell) try to weasel their way into his entourage, his bed and his bank account! Green also performs his new single, "Feels Just Like It Should." Premieres Friday, September 22 at 8:30 p.m., ET/PT
September 1, 2006 – Country - Texan Pat Green is the Bruce Springsteen of the Southwest: He's passionate, expressive and engaging, coming at you steady and hard. Case in point: the title of his 10th release, on which the country singer celebrates the power of love to break through barriers in harddriving Texas rock style. Meanwhile, the nostalgic "Way Back Texas" would lose little if you changed it to "Way Back Jersey." Surprisingly, given Green's lonewolf tendencies, the album's highlight is "Finder's Keepers," a soft-rockish duet with sweet-voiced Sara Evans.
