Grew up in Midlothian, TX. Home schooled for three years. Graduated from Midlothian High School At 12 years old started playing Mandolin, which he learned from his father and grandfather Later took lessons from Jimmie Don Bates and Joey McKenzie. At 14 years old started playing upright bass for "The Andy Owens Project". Played upright with "The Andy Owens Project" for 4 years, which took him across the United States touring Russia and the Czech Republic. Performed with Joey McKenzie playing Western swing. Touring Columbia, Ecuador, Brazil, Toronto and Ottawa. Played mandolin and guitar with "The Brent Mitchell Band", from 1996 until November 1998 when he started playing with Pat Green. From 1995-2001 attended University of North Texas in Denton, TX studying Jazz Performance Bass. Has resided in Denton, TX. Since 1995.
